Pottery Classes
CLAY
We use only stoneware clay (high-fire clay), available in several colors — white, black, and speckled beige. It is more durable that regularly used low-fire clay, doesn’t absorb moisture and is dishwasher safe.
GLAZES
We use high-quality stoneware glazes. These glazes don’t crackle and are much stronger than the low-fire glazes commonly used in Lithuania. All studio glazes are food-safe. You can choose from 40+ color palette and use pour-on or brush-on glazes, underglaze paints, engobes or glaze granules.
CLASSES
A pottery session lasts 2 hours, during which you’ll make 1–3 pieces. To fully complete your work, two sessions are required — in the first session we sculpt, and in the second, we glaze. There should be at least a 10-day gap between the two sessions to allow the pieces to dry and be fired. Glazed pieces will be ready for pick up in two weeks.
Group classes are limited to 6 people, so I always have enough time to help each participant bring their dream creation to life.
For first-time potters:
If you have no previous handbuilding experience, I’ll recommend making a bowl or a cup during your first session. These simple forms makes it easy to control the clay and helps you learn essential hand-building techniques.
